CRYPTOPSY FORCED TO CANCEL SOUTH AMERICAN TOUR AFTER DRUMMER FLO MOUNIER INJURES KNEE

CRYPTOPSY ANNOUNCE NEW ALBUM TITLE AND DETAILS

Extreme metal titans Cryptopsy have been forced to cancel their recently announced tour of South America in March, after drummer Flo Mounier broke his knee cap. Mounier had completed the drum tracking process for the group’s new album prior to the incident, so it did not affect the recording. The tour of South America is expected to be re-scheduled later in 2008.

Cryptopsy are currently putting the finishing touches on their sixth full-length, “The Unspoken King”, which will surface through Century Media this spring. The group recently announced the addition of new frontman Matt McGachy (3 Mile Scream) and keyboards/samplist Maggie Durand to their line-up.

“Right now the band is plunged deeply into the production of the new album and so far everything is going well,” says guitarist Alex Auburn. “Fans will be amazed by the diversity and open minded vision of Extremes for this particular entity. Here are some song titles we’ve been working on ‘Worship your Demons’, ‘Resurgence of an Empire and ‘Silence the Tyrants’.”

Cryptopsy have scheduled a tour of Mexico in April, followed by a European tour with Decrepit Birth and Unmerciful, and a North American run on this year’s Summer Slaughter Tour alongside The Black Dahlia Murder, Kataklysm, Vader, Whitechapel and others.

Studio update by singer Matt McGachy:
The studio process has been very fullfilling. We have just recently finished all of the vocal tracks, and the samples are in the process of being completed. The songs are just as brutal as the previous albums while being far more consise. We have even brought in ex-Ion Dissonance vocalist Gabriel McCaughry to come out and add some vocals to a track called ``Anoint the Dead``. Some of the other tracks on the album are called, ``Worship Your Demons``, ``The Headsmen`` and ``Bemoan the Martyr``.

We also completed our version of the Strapping Young Lad song,``Oh My Fucking God`` for the upcomming Century Media Compliation. This was a completed blast to record…although pretty difficult at times. In the end I believe that we did the song justice and I think that our deathed out version is actually very brutal.

Cryptopsy should appear in a documentary that will be broadcasted on TV5 (in French), Thursday October 11th at 10:30 PM (rebroadcasted Wednesday October 17th at 1:30 AM). The topic of this documentary produced by Urbania is CITÉ 2000, the building in wich Cryptopsy and over 200 bands have their rehearsal rooms.

CRYPTOPSY will soon announce the new acquisitions in the band for the positions of lead singer and keyboardist/samplist. We will release new pictures of the band by October and CRYPTOPSY will be in studio for the recording of their sixth album in November 2007. By early 2008, CRYPTOPSY will be ready to tour intensively throughout the world.
